30 Esplanade | Brighton
Architecture firm Wood Marsh have teamed up with our talented friend, interior designer Kendra Pinkus of Bates Smart in designing a collection of 24, three-level townhouses in Melbourne for boutique property developer SC Land and their recently completed 30 Esplanade Brighton development.
Set on Brighton’s Esplanade, overlooking Port Phillip Bay, Wood Marsh has drawn on the homes coastal setting for the developments architectural inspiration. The curves, bends and swell of the surrounding coastline and tides are reflected in the curved and textured facade of scalloped concrete cladding with teak timber curvilinear details evoking the colours of driftwood and foreshore woodlands.
In celebration of master craftsmanship, developers SC Land have collaborated with local artisans and designers to create this bespoke townhouse development just sixteen minutes drive from the city. Oversized hand-blown glass door handles were created by master glass smith Mark Douglass while the team at Wood Marsh were responsible for creating the individually crafted entrance lighting and Artoz Rugs the custom designed and manufactured carpets throughout. Spanning three levels, each free standing home features full height double-glazed windows and 2.9m ceilings along with designer kitchens complete with marble benchtops and fully integrated timber veneer cupboards and joinery with Gaggenau appliances.
